HY SOLAR Boosts Animal Husbandry Agri-voltaic Model in Guizhou

  • Recently, the first 65MW phase of the 130MW distributed PV project on an eco-friendly cattle farm's rooftop in Bijie, Guizhou Province, was successfully grid-connected. Jointly developed by HY SOLAR, Anhui Xinyeyuan, and Xi'an XD, the project leverages HY SOLAR's high-efficiency HT modules to bolster animal husbandry agri-voltaic model in Guizhou, driving the transition towards greener, eco-friendly energy.

    640 (2)Located in Dafang County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, the project site boasts an annual average solar radiation exceeding 4450 MJ/m², indicating abundant solar energy resources. Leveraging 19 subdivisions of the Dafang County ecological cattle farm, the project has established distributed photovoltaic power stations. Each farm, equipped with 10 to 19 cattle sheds and a green feed storage facility, utilizes over 1.1 million square meters of rooftop space, adorned with over 228,000 photovoltaic panels. This project not only achieves "power generation above, livestock farming below" but also enhances shading and insulation for the cattle sheds, showcasing a modern, green "PV + livestock farming" development model that efficiently maximizes land utilization.

    HY SOLAR supplied the HT series 182 cell 72pcs modules for this project, transforming “idle shed roofs” into “green power production lines”. As a popular bestseller from HY SOLAR, this product stands out in terms of power output, bifacial efficiency, temperature coefficient, and low-light performance. It boasts a first-year degradation rate of 1%, a temperature coefficient of -0.29%/℃, and an impressive 85% bifacial efficiency. Backed by a 15-year material/workmanship warranty and a 30-year power warranty, the smooth deployment of these high-efficiency modules brings the vision of a “agrivoltaic” green development model to fruition.

    The first phase of the project has already been successfully grid-connected, with an overall annual power generation capacity of 137.907 million kWh. This translates to annual savings of approximately 41,716.87 tons of standard coal and a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions by around 115,841.88 tons. Compared to conventional projects, the agrivoltaic model not only boosts economic efficiency in power generation but also dramatically enhances land use efficiency. It creates a harmonious integration of new energy development and livestock farming, allowing for both economic gains and environmental benefits such as green carbon reduction and increased resource utilization, thereby achieving a win-win scenario for the project.
