Recently, HY SOLAR partnered with a local Bulgarian distributor to supply approximately 1MW of high-efficiency PV modules for residential rooftop projects. Supported by the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility, this project aims to enhance household energy independence and accelerate the adoption of green, low-carbon lifestyles. According to data released by industry organizations such as SolarPower Europe, the EU’s cumulative installed solar capacity reached 334GW by the end of 2024, ranking among the top globally. Building on this momentum, the EU has further strengthened its climate ambitions by proposing a legally binding target to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by 90% by 2040 compared to 1990 levels—accelerating the path to carbon neutrality. Clean energy, especially residential distributed PV systems, has emerged as a critical driver of this structural energy transition.
As an EU member state, Bulgaria has responded proactively to climate and energy strategies in recent years, accelerating the deployment of renewable energy at the residential level. With supportive policies that encourage households to install distributed PV systems, the country is steadily increasing energy autonomy for its citizens. Situated in Southeast Europe, Bulgaria also benefits from abundant solar resources, providing favorable conditions for PV adoption. Driven by such backdrop, the project will be rolled out across multiple residential rooftops, Promoting the widespread adoption of green energy locally.
