As “PV+” applications continue to unlock value across ecological restoration, rural revitalization, and industrial upgrading, solar energy has grown far beyond a single source of electricity. It is increasingly becoming a powerful engine for environmental recovery and regional economic growth. Recently, HY SOLAR, in collaboration with China Zhongnan Engineering Corporation Limited (CPECC Zhongnan Design Institute), successfully delivered 70 MW of high-efficiency modules for the Ongniud Banner PV assistance project in Inner Mongolia, providing reliable product support for local development.

Ongniud Banner lies on the western edge of the Horqin Sandy Land and is one of the most severely desertified areas in Chifeng, with some of the most challenging ecological-restoration needs. Although blessed with abundant solar resources, the region has long faced the dual challenge of ecological rehabilitation and coordinated regional development. As PV assistance programs continue to deepen across the autonomous region, Ongniud Banner is actively exploring how clean energy can drive better livelihoods and economic revitalization. This PV assistance project is a strong example of transforming natural resource advantages into real development momentum.

The project adopts HY SOLAR’s HT Series 182-78 bifacial modules , delivering up to 650W of power with a bifaciality of up to 85%. Built on N-type TOPCon technology, the modules feature lower LID and stronger low-irradiance performance to maintain stable output throughout the year. The product has also passed TÜV NORD’s enhanced IEC TS 63209-1 testing, demonstrating excellent resistance to salt mist, ammonia, sand abrasion, and PID. These advantages make the modules well-suited for Ongniud Banner’s sandy terrain, ensuring robust and efficient bifacial power generation even under strong sunlight. In addition, the modules come with a 15-year materials/workmanship warranty and a 30-year linear power-output warranty, reinforcing the long-term value of the PV assistance project.

Once fully operational, the project is expected to generate approximately 110 million kWh of electricity annually, saving about 16,900 tons of standard coal and reducing 21,700 tons of CO₂ emissions each year. The stable output of clean electricity will support the optimization of the regional energy mix while delivering significant environmental benefits, providing a sustainable green driver for the area’s low-carbon transition.
As the project progresses steadily, this PV assistance plant is already turning Ongniud Banner’s abundant sunlight into long-term, tangible value. Looking ahead, HY SOLAR will continue working with partners to deploy efficient and reliable PV solutions across more regions—enabling clean energy to become a strong force for local development and injecting lasting momentum into broader green transformation.
